Crete Heraklion Shuttle Transfers
Heraklion, the capital of Crete, is located along the north coast of the island. The capital itself has a world to offer holidaymakers, from beaches and bars to shops, sports and sea. The bustling city centre gives way to sumptuous beaches, which can be enjoyed alongside an exploration of Heraklion’s fascinating culture and history through its many relics and museums.
The long, clean, sandy beach of Amoudara is situated close to Heraklion Town, and its beauty makes it a real hit with sunseekers. On the southern side, Matala beach offers a stunning contrast between the ordered smoothness of the beach and the strange, jagged rock formations that overlook it.
The nearby resort of Malia, just nineteen miles from the airport and easily reachable by airport shuttle or pre-booked taxi transfer, is the most popular beach resort on the island. It is also the most famous spot for nightlife, with holidaymakers flocking to Malia for a sun-soaked, no-holes-barred party holiday. However, there are plenty of quieter resorts on Crete for those seeking more relaxation than regurgitation!
Crete Heraklion Airport Shuttles
Crete Heraklion Airport is often known as Nikos Kazantzakis airport, after the island’s foremost writer and philosopher. It is situated just 5km east of Heraklion City Centre and can become extremely congested during the summer months. Although Heraklion is set to be replaced by a larger airport in 2015, for now it is very important to pre-book your airport transfer before you leave. Without pre-booking, you may find yourself queueing and waiting for hours to reach your accommodation.
